So for the first time in, well, ever, I actually have: two LiveJournal userpics. I may add more as the thought occurs to me.

This is in part due to a makeover of my main journal page, trying to do a new style, mostly for its own sake. Getting LiveJournal’s “S2” style system to work with an external CSS file is not as simple as it sounds like it should be. In fact, S2 is not as simple as it sounds like it should be, either. The S2 system’s only advantage is that once a style is created it’s very easy for a non-programmer to modify it through the “Edit Customizations” page; if you want, however, to do any tweaking that the customization page for that style doesn’t have, God help you. I have no earthly idea why someone thought this would be easier to work with than a more conventional templating system. (The flaws in the S1 templates that are the evident rationale for S2 are real, but they could have been fixed without nearly this much effort.)

Anyway, a longer post to be, uh, posted shortly. I have a long essay to shove out, which should be of interest to literally ones and ones of you!
