From TechCrunch:

Six Apart is launching an advertising network for blogs and will begin offering professional services (design, implementation, development, optimization) after acquiring New York-based creative agency Apperceptive.

The company is now competing with Federated Media Publishing, Glam, the upcoming Technorati ad network and a number of others to get bloggers to join their network. Six Apart has long sold advertising for itself on its network of free blogs on LiveJournal (before it was sold) and Vox. CEO Chris Alden says they have significant experience in grouping like-blogs and selling to large advertisers.

After Six Apart's assaults on personal freedom of speech, telling people what they may or may not write about or draw in an individual's PAID FOR property, it'll be a cold day in hell before I give them or anyone to do with them so much as a quart of owl's piss. Nevermind money.

6A decided to follow the Nanny State model of governing. Fine. I won't pay them so much as a nickle, if they wish to be so unAmerican in their business dealings.

I was thinking the other day regarding security levels. That they should be a little more informative:

Everyone - everyone, including marketers and spammers, and obviously the higher security users as well.
Friends - A select list of people you know, plus scripts that exploit login privileges to access the protected material.
Custom Levels - An even more restricted set of people you know, plus the consumer database being established regarding your preferences, and theirs.
Personal - Just you. Plus the admins, the NSA, the Russian Mafia, law enforcement regarding drugs/kittyporn, homeland security regarding terrorism, hackers and Nigerian 411ers.
